Mr. Murphy has over 25 years experience in real estate appraisal, acquisition, counseling and development.
Prior to forming Cumberland Advisors, Mr. Murphy was a Principal of Alliance Appraisal Group, Inc., a regional
commercial appraisal firm with offices in Dallas, Houston, Nashville and Denver. He was responsible for all
production and review of appraisals of office, retail, multifamily and industrial property types from the
Dallas office.
Mr. Murphy is a MAI (Member, Appraisal Institute) and a CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member). He has
been involved for many years at both the local and national levels of the Commercial Investment Real Estate
Institute and the Appraisal Institute. Mr. Murphy is a past president of the local CCIM Chapter and the
Greater Nashville Commercial Investment Division of the Board of Realtors.
Bart Johnston joined Cumberland Advisors in April of 2005 as the leasing agent for Gateway Village; a 180,000
sf mixed-use development in Franklin, TN. Pursuant to the sale of that asset, Bart played a key role in the
ownership and sale of The Dover Centre at Cool Springs, a 225,000 sf office building in Franklin, TN.
Currently, Bart is actively engaged with Multi-Family and Office clients conducting Tenant Representation,
Investment Sales, Site Selection, and Land Acquisitions. Experience includes sales, leasing, equity placement,
structured finance, and the negotiation of partnerships arrangements.
Previously, Bart was with Q10 Vista Commercial Mortgage Group and Mid-South Financial Corporation. He and his
wife, Bonnie, have two children, Ryan and Parker.
